These cards were issued by Typhoo Tea and were included in their packets of tea. they date from 1937 and feature characters from various Shakespeare plays.
They are a full set of 25 original cards. Each card has a colour illustrationof a character from the play on the front with a brief description below.
On the back of the card there is an offer for people to save up vouchers for a book containing the complete works of Shakespeare.
The cards are approx 10.0 x 3.7cm in size and are part of a series of this 'long' size, which fitted into the standard tall tea packets.
There is some wear commensurate with the age of of these cards but oversll the set is in good condition.
