A lovely 1940's shop display card showing 6 postcards of Torquay and Paignton.
Issued by J Salmon Ltd it shows a selection of their Local View series colour postcards.
This would have hung up in the shop so that customers could choose the postcards they wanted and then buy them at the shop counter.
It has 6 postcards, size 14 x 9cm, glued to a concertina type card. At the top is the branded header card, which has a hanging ring and cord so it could be hung up in the shop. The back of the display card is blank.
The colour paintings on the cards are by various artists, including A R Quinton and C T Howard.
It is undated but looking at the cards I would estimate that it dates from the 1940's.
It appears to be unused and is in good condition. I have replaced the hanging cord but the ring and everything else are original.
Very unusual shop display card with beautiful colour pictures of the area that are very evocative of the 1940's.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
