Five used bank cheques which date from the 1950's. These were issued by the payee, United Hunts Club, and not by the payers bank.
Known as payee cheques the payer has written his own bank details onto the preprinted cheque together with the amount and signed it. Presumably these were used by the Club so the payer did not have to use their own cheques.
I have not been able to track down the United Hunts club but I assume it was a London Gentleman's Club.
All cheques are stamped as paid by both parties' banks National Provincial and Glyn Mills & Co, they also have a 2d duty stamp.
Given their age all the cheques are in £ s d.
As they have been used there is some slight damage or creasing but I think that can be forgiven, after all they have been stored for 70 years.
Size approx 165 x 90mm.
Unusual payee cheques issued by a London club that no longer exists, ideal to add to your collection but also for including in scrapbooks, decoupage or other projects. I will send a random selection of five used cheques.
Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.
