"What to knit for baby", a booklet published by Scotch Wool & Hosiery Stores to promote their range of knitting wools and other knitting products.

It is a seventh series copy which from a printer's reference in the book is from 1936. All the designs in the book are very typical of the 1930's.

The booklet comprises 72 pages of which 64 are patterns for clothes for babies and children. The remaining pages are general information on the company and washing instructions for knitted garments.

Virtually every garment has a photo of the finished article and there are detailed knitting and making up instructions together with guidance on the correct wool, needle sizes etc.

According to a stamp inside the book this copy, which cost 2d, was bought from the Scotch Wool shop in Shields Road, Byker, Newcastle on Tyne.

The size is 150 x 120mm and the booklet is printed in sepia.

Overall the condition is very good with only slight wear to the spine.

Please note. I do my best to accurately photograph and describe the condition of the items for sale, including any minor defects, but all pieces are vintage and have had previous lives and so may have minor flaws.

Postage is for UK only, please enquire for overseas postage.
